BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Police have taken into custody 26-year-old Jason Lettelleir on charges of aggravated assault.
Authorities are investigating reports of a single gunshot at Edgewater apartments Monday evening.
According to dispatch, no one is injured.
Officers say they have everyone involved is in custody and the scene is secure. They say there is no threat to the public.
Dispatch says that police were called to a report of a suspicious subject in the area at 8:30 p.m. and soon after a "shots fired," call came in from police.
As officers were arriving on foot, a man fired a gun into the air, police say. He was then ordered to drop the gun by police. They say the man was in an apartment prior to police arriving when he went out to investigate a group of people who he thought were acting suspiciously in the parking lot.
According to police, a fight broke out between the group and the man displayed his weapon, pointed it toward at least one person, then fired it into the air.
The suspect is not known to have any prior connections to the group of the people he confronted in the parking lot, police say.
Officers say they detained the group immediately and began their investigation upon arrival.
A witness described seeing 7-10 police cruisers in the area.
Lieutenant Butler with Boise Police says one person was arrested for aggravated assault.
