Compulsory Surface shipping damage: Part 2 MyFigureCollection.net

Hi folks,
3 months ago I posted an article about my experiences with my orders being compulsorily shipped via surface shipping and arriving with damage.

This is a sequel to that post. Package #2 that was shipped out with this method without my consent just arrived today, 3 months after I was told the package had already shipped out and couldn't be changed. (This shipment contained items released OCT 2020)

Unsurprisingly, this package also arrived damaged. Surprisingly, they managed to even outdo last time's damage. (5 out of 6 items have damage)

I understand some people have decent experiences with surface mail, but this is my third time being burned by surface mail. (3 for 3! yay?) It's NOT a matter of luck, there is something in the chain of custody between Japan and NYC that consistently destroys these boxes and it isn't my local post office. (The last order's final delivery was done by USPS, this time it was delivered by UPS)

ANYBODY that lives in the NYC area PLEASE do not use this shipping method unless you like your expensive figurines to come seasoned with a nice helping of damage. I would be apprehensive to use this method anywhere on the east coast USA unless other users local to you can vouch for their packages arriving intact.

I was able to get a meager amount of compensation (like $20) from amiami for the damages incurred from my previous order (of ~$800) but their policy regarding these is vague and unhelpful. Your only option is basically to just take what they give you, if anything.

When I saw the damage on this item in particular all I could do was laugh... just... how?!
The outer box shows zero signs of having been opened or tampered with by customs. https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2021/04/28/2702368.jpeg
